Charlie Frattini has a loud mouth, killer work ethic, a wealth of construction experience and a heart of gold. All of them come together in Discovery's new show "Construction Intervention" where Frattini works with independent business owners who have been victims of botched renovations and gets them back on track.
We worked with the Discovery Marketing team on the project, starting with a quirky Wes Anderson-inspired concept where all of the action of a renovation could come together in a dynamic one-shot. As time went on, however, the big idea didn't fit in with the fact that what Charlie does makes a huge impact on the business owners, so the promo was tweaked to really feature Charlie in action.
We shot with Charlie and the Discovery team throughout Manhattan- the place where he leads many of his builds, and where he has worked on massive renovations. We were on the Brooklyn Bridge, down in Tribeca, up in Harlem and even over in Long Island City where we shot the final hero take. Charlie, even though it is his first show, is an ace talent, and takes his true skills and passions and brings them to the TV. We even hung out with Charlie and he is a great guy.
